Which Church Does The Bible Recognize?

By Victor Bivell

When thinking about how and why the other Orthodox Churches do not recognize the Macedonian Orthodox Church, here is how I would respond.

I would tell all of them that Corinthians 8:1 clearly says "Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia."

I would say that God clearly and specifically recognizes the Macedonian Church. As the Macedonian Church has the grace and recognition of God, it does not need the recognition of the other Churches.

In fact, it is the other churches that need the recognition of the Macedonian Church.

Does it say in the Bible that the Serbian Church has the recognition of God? No.

Does it say in the Bible that the Bulgarian Church has the recognition of God? No.

Does it say in the Bible that the Greek Church has the recognition of God?

Does it say in the Bible that the other Orthodox Churches have the recognition of God?

If the Bible does not recognize these other churches, if God does not specifically recognize these other churches as God recognizes the Macedonian Church, then why should anyone else recognize these churches?

Why should the Macedonian Church recognize these churches?
The Macedonian Church should only recognize these Churches if they are good Christians, and to be good Christians they need to be better Churches and to exemplify Christian love, respect, tolerance, and the other Christian virtues.

Surely the recognition and blessing of God brings with it the obligation for the Macedonian Church to exert moral leadership among organizations that desperately need it.
