Georgi Cholakovski from the village of Besfina, Lerinsko was born to
a poor village family and from his young years he was a shepherd. At
the start of the armed struggle in 1946 he was among the first to join
the ranks of DAG and fought heroically and with fanaticism against monarcho-fascism
and foreign occupiers.
In 1948 in the great battles on Gramos, in one battle he and three
comrades entered the fire to save one of their comrades who had been
wounded and there an enemy grenade found him.
